Hand digitizing vs an auto converter

Auto converters promise embroidery digitizing with one click. They can be useful for a rough test. They are a poor finish for a shirt you will wear or sell.

A converter sees contrast. A digitizer sees fabric. Cotton twill pulls differently than a stretch polo. A hat front is curved. A towel has loops that swallow thin satin. Software does not feel those things unless a person sets them.

What a person changes

We choose running stitch for thin lines, satin for letters, and a fill that will not sink into fleece. We add underlay so the top stitches sit flat. We set the sew order so color changes make sense on a home machine.
