PES files for Brother embroidery machines
Most Brother home machines use PES. Learn what to order when you need embroidery digitizing for a Brother PE, SE, or similar.
If your machine says Brother, the file you usually need is PES. That is the common format for PE, SE, and many combo sewing-and-embroidery models. When you order embroidery digitizing, tick PES as one of your two formats.
You can also add DST if you share files with a shop. Two formats are included. Write the model name in the notes if you are not sure — for example, Brother PE800 or SE1900.
Size still matters
A Brother hoop has a limit. A 4-by-4 hoop cannot sew a 6-inch design. Measure the longest side you want on the shirt, then enter that size on the form. Cheap embroidery digitizing does not help if the file is larger than your hoop.
